Nanette Lepore Presented Her Spring Collection with a Hybrid Photoshoot Dance Party

Instead of staging a run-of-the-mill fashion show, designer Nanette Lepore cleared out her Broome Street flagship store on Tuesday night and threw a hybrid presentation, photoshoot and dance party all in one. As guests mingled drinking cans of pinot gris and listening to music by Tiki Disco, the models took their turns getting photographed for the look book and posing on an elevated surface by the street-facing window. Lepore collaborated with Sean Kinney, the founder of Eddie Eddie by Billy Tommy, on the graphic phrases embroidered on many pieces. Caption Polish's Soo Kim provided the dry brushstroke monochromatic manicures. The event was like a rotating mini-presentation that welcomed partygoers into the warm, crowded creative space. And once the business of images was done with, the models, and the designer herself, let loose on the dance floor. Who needs a stuffy runway?
